Tonight is my first date with Mark.
He is the "blind date" (Facebook guilty) set up by my friend Shannon Christensen.
We talked on the phone a week ago and it was a fun conversation. We've texted a few times.
He's a BYU alumni & BYU sports fan. I like that.
I'm finding that it's much easier for me to mesh with BYU guys. I don't feel 100% myself otherwise.
My sister Heather might disagree... she made it work out with a Ute alumni.
We choose our own battles. :)
Mark and I are going to play guitars. He admitted that he knew I played the guitar because he saw that in my info on Facebook. At least both of us are equally guilty of Facebook stalking.
So not only is it a first date-- it's an "audition" for how much I can impress him with my guitar skills.
I think it will depend on how much we "click", as to how much I'll try to impress him.
No mushy songs if I'm not feelin' it.
Wish me luck! :)

GOOOOOOOOOOOD
ReplyDeleteLUUUUUUUUUUUCK
He'd be crazy not to think you're awesome.
Woooo hoo, I'm excited for you! He's a cutie, I saw his FB pics myself. Have fun, rock it on the guitar. And if you run out of songs to sing, there's always "Nathan is a dork" or the Eagle scout song to mix things up a little.
ReplyDeleteHope he ends up being at least half as fabulous as you are.. and that you have lots of fun realizing that.
ReplyDeleteAnd... "Nathan is a dork".. Haven't seen that one posted to your FB wall yet!! Share! ;)
You could go mushy if it is going good but if it is going horribly there is an Elvis Costello song that I think is call "This is Hell" that might help him get that hint! HA HA! I am sure it will be great! Have a super time!
ReplyDeleteI'm pretty sure he's the one who is going to have to impress YOU! You rock! Hope it's going great!
ReplyDeleteThere are a lot of good guys that went to other Universities, including the U of U...believe it or not. I still love you guys just as much, no matter what school you went to or who you choose cheer for:)
ReplyDeleteFirst of all, JAKE-- I love you, even in your U attire. I hold nothing against you. The past few guys I've been set up with have all been die-hard Utes and it was just refreshing to meet someone who was actually in favor of BYU. That's all. :)
ReplyDeleteFor the rest of you... the date came and went, and I actually had a really good time. We played guitars for 2 hours, taking turns and teaching each other little things. I didn't go mushy on him, but not because I was repulsed by him-- its just didn't seem right. I honestly can't tell if he's even interested at all, or if he sees me more as a "guitar jam buddy." Either way, cute guy, super nice, good at the guitar, and fun. So I guess we'll see, 'eh?
Um, you probably either better not talk about dates on your blog, or quit posting your blog address on Facebook. Most guys wouldn't want to read about it afterwards.... =) Love ya, though, and glad you had a good week!
ReplyDeleteMom-- I haven't given any guys my blog address and anticipate only girls reading it. If a guy happens to read it, oh well, he stepped into that realm of female thoughts. My Facebook account doesn't have my link anywhere and I don't tell any random boys about it. So I think I'm okay. And if a guy is really that interested in my life to dig for my blog link... he should just man up and talk to me in person. :)
