RANDOM (Fonts)

I have an issue with fonts.  Like the choice of "font" that some businesses use for their signs, letterhead, etc.  I was thinking about this as I was in the Portland, OR Airport looking at the signs above me in the terminals.  Terrible choice of font for their big "B15" or "Baggage Claim" signs.  It really bothered me.

Then I remembered how much I hate the font on Steelers jerseys.  I don't like the Steelers to begin with, but add that lame font in and I can hardly stand it.  I'd much rather stare at the Eagles' jerseys all day.  At least they had the sense to do some "shadowing" with their numbers.

I noticed it more during the March Madness, staring at so many different college basketball teams and jerseys.  I believe a jersey should have big, deep, block letters/numbers and it will look good, and professional.  A choice of a simple "Arial" font for numbers and letters is cheap and ugly. I also think it's funny when a store has a big sign out front, and I think, "Oh, that's 'Comic Sans' or 'Jokerman'"... and it ruins the whole thing because it doesn't seem real or professional anymore.

Anyway, those are my random thoughts for today.  I apologize if I have forever tainted you, now that you might be obsessively judging and rating the fonts on everything around you. :)
